Windows 7 is more restrictive about ACPI than Windows XP has been. This requires a changed configuration in the BIOS Setup.

While booting the system press the <Del> key to enter the BIOS Setup. In BIOS Setup select the "Advanced" category. And in Advanced move the cursor down to the item of 'ACPI configuration'. When this is selected, press the <Enter> key.

Change the first option to show as "ACPI aware OS   [Yes]". Then there are three other options. In the second option configure the Version as 'ACPI 2.0' for Windows 7 x86 (32 bit) Edition, and as 'ACPI 3.0' for Windows 7 x64 (64 bit) Edition.

Save this configuration, and reboot. Now Windows 7 will install.
